Iowa Health Careers is an interactive website designed to explain the wide variety of health professions for students interested in a future in healthcare. This website is an initiative of  the Iowa Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Program, a federally funded workforce initiative that recruits, trains, and retains health professionals committed to the medically underserved in Iowa.

Our Mission

The purpose of Iowa Health Careers is to educate students about the numerous possibilities in the healthcare field. With major shortages of healthcare professionals in Iowa’s rural and underserved areas, it is our mission to expose students to health careers and encourage the pursuit of these careers in the state. By providing up-to-date information on health careers, health-related education and training programs, financial aid resources and current issues in healthcare, we hope to build a stronger healthcare workforce.
